"Impressiveness and competitive advantage with wines for restaurants”, promise Category Manager Anders Pöntinen and Wine & Drinks Business Manager Juha Lihtonen. Metro-tukku Konepaja brings an impressive wine room with its services to a central location in Helsinki.
The goal of wine experts of Metro-tukku is to provide the best possible wine sourcing channel and wine partnership for restaurant owners.
"Metro-tukku Konepaja gives us an excellent opportunity to invest in our own imported wine selection Metro Wines in a completely new way. We have set out to build a product range that gives restaurant entrepreneurs the tools to create unique and memorable customer encounters”, says Pöntinen.
Deepening and specializing the wine selection
Metro Wines selection is now being developed towards even higher quality wines, including specialty wines, rare finds and different bottle sizes. Restaurateurs can make new discoveries to their wine selection from both classic and new regions.
"The keywords of the selection are responsibility, sustainable development, and experiential quality. Veganism is well taken into account, and organic wines also stand out in the selection. The selection is based on our values, and my mission is to evoke emotions through wine. Wine is rich with stories, and sharing these narratives with restaurateurs provides the tools to create a successful dining experience for their customers.," Lihtonen continues.

“I maintain strong relationships with suppliers and principals to ensure the availability of wine in our selection. Additionally, I am responsible for ensuring the accuracy of product information and guaranteeing quality standards”, Pöntinen sums up.
